Last Run Before Amsterdam Half

Today I was happy to come across on Twitter an 8.2 mile race being held this Sunday near home, the Garmin Kingston Run Challenge, and I am now registered.

This has come at the perfect time, being held the week before I attempt my second half marathon in Amsterdam, especially since my training plan has gone out the window the past few weeks and my recent toe injury (good news – it isn’t broken and it’s healing!).

The race is organised by Human Race and coincidentally I did another one of their events, the Whole Foods Market Breakfast 8.2 Milera fortnight before my first half marathon in April this year.

For anyone local interested in doing the race, registration closes 9 pm 8th October and there is also a 16 mile and 24 mile option and there will be 7 paced groups to choose from to help runners achieve their desired finish time (6 – 12 minute/mile).

I’m hoping to better my 1:29 time from earlier this year.
