Day Out At The Running Show

Yesterday we headed to Sandown Park Racecourse in Esher for our first visit to the Running Show.

Entry was just £6 for the both of us, including goodie bags, due to a 2-4-1 offer to those on their mailing list (the wrist band given to you at the entrance can also be used on both days!).

Before entering the main room there were a few stands offering discounts on running accessories, nutrition, and clothing. Into the main room there were about 4 rows of exhibitors and the first stall we hit was Moving Comfort, which we learnt is the sister company of Brooks Running, and where we spotted @VeggieRunnersUK chatting to the exhibitors.

A highlight of our visit was discovering the Running Memories stand exhibiting medal displays, something we’ve been meaning to get for ages. We spoke to a really nice guy there who told us about the different options available, how to extend them as our collection grows and that they can be personalised (see first picture in our photo gallery below). Plans for a chrome-effect Run Dabblers medal display are being made!

One piece of kit we were on the lookout for was a pair of compression shorts for Dano as I had raved about the pair I recently bought and which I used for the first time at Marathon des Alpes-Maritimes this month. We spotted some Skins gear at the entrance and there was also a 2XU stand within the main room, where Dano ended up getting 20% discount on a pair.

Throughout the day various seminars were held and we were fortunate to pass by one of the seminar areas as Martin Yelling was giving a seminar on ‘pacing your perfect race’.

After a quick tea break we ended up at a distributor’s stall who was exhibiting discounted Zensah compression socks and calf sleeves where Dano bought his second compression item, some socks.

We picked up a couple of good deals at the Ronhill stall; Dano a running jacket for £25 (reduced from £75) and myself a long-sleeved running top, half price at £14. They even threw in a hat/gloves pack for free.

Once we had exhausted all stalls, collecting a few shopping bags along the way, we decided to head onto our next stop for the day, Guildford, picking up a great discount on a Science in Sport Endurance Pack for only £6.99 at the stall near the entrance/exit. I would definitely recommend a visit to the Running Show next year.
