Ever since I took up running in 2011 my dream has been to run all six World Marathon Majors. Four years on I found myself in the 2015 Chicago Marathon (my 4th WMM), having been successful in the lottery.
My third race in Spain, previous being Barcelona Marathon and Rock ‘n’ Roll Madrid, and it was back to the marathon. It was my first time to Seville and I was anticipating a flat course. Everything was seemingly in place for a good race despite my niggling hamstring injury.
Yesterday morning we headed out for a leisurely 7 km run along the Guadalquivir River to help Dano shake off his aches and pains from Sunday’s Seville Marathon and to get some snaps.
After a summer of half marathons and the odd Park Run it was time to get back to the big 26.2 and another new destination, Budapest. After nailing my fastest marathon (3:32) in Tokyo at the beginning of the year, I was again aiming for a sub 3:30.
